My daughter +Jennifer and I are applying for full-time missionary status with Project AmaZon. No, this is not a spur of the moment decision. We have been praying and seeking God for over three years regarding the desire in our hearts to be a part of spreading the Gospel to other nations. Over these past three years, we have consumed written accounts of missionaries the world over, prayed, fasted and prayed some more, and received prayer from Susi Childers, missionary with YWAM, that a door would open and there would be provision for our journey.
This past September, we traveled to Brazil to visit a young missionary whom we support. We fell in love with the work of Project AmaZon and all they stand for. It is very obvious that they are built on the firm foundation of Christ, and I was particularly moved by their tangible love and care for the people of Brazil.
During a corporate fast with our local church, Denver United, this January 2013, we felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to contact Project AmaZon. We were informed that the internship for Project AmaZon is currently in Kawasaki, Japan, and they were interested in a mother/daughter team joining their ranks. We have prayed about this and feel that this is the direction the Lord would have us go.
Please pray for us that the application process will go smoothly and that we will be approved. Agree with us also that provision will be made as we embark on this extraordinary adventure. Updates to follow!!!
